Flexible Foam to Meet Crib-5 Fire Rating
A water-blown flexible foam for furniture applications has been developed recently, the requirement being to produce a low-density product capable of meeting the Crib-5 fire test requirement. Initial trials using high-pressure dispensing equipment have resulted in a 10% decrease in overall density, compared with traditional high-resilience furniture foams. Manufacturers of moulded cushions have in recent times found it difficult to compete with cushion slabs cut from block-foam. The new moulded product from IFS is technically superior to the cut slab versions and provides a moulded material that is cost-effective.
